About OAX

The 3rd annual Original Art Expo (OAX) is being held in Orlando, Florida on February 20 to 22, 2026 at the DoubleTree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Studios.

OAX is the premier narrative art-focused event in the world that exclusively showcases original comic book, illustration, collector card, comic strip, game, animation, and other visual storytelling art. The show is an intimate, intense, and immersive three-day art fair and trade show hybrid focused entirely on this emerging and important art collecting category. Watch the OAX 2024 Intro Footage video HERE, and read the post-OAX 2025 press release with show stats HERE.

OAX has been designed from the ground up to celebrate the attending artists while also honoring the critical role, knowledge, and passion of art collectors. A minimum of 80 prominent artists will be exhibiting along with over 50 art dealers, artist reps, auction houses, and related groups. Year one and two of OAX sold out of all VIP tickets, with year two bringing together nearly 1000 people over the weekend.

Friday before the main show will be a full day of OAX, artist, exhibitor, attendee, and community-generated events that will be scheduled, posted, and described on the OAX website. These events will be free to OAX badge holders with the possible exception of a few special paid and VIP-only events. The Friday event day will culminate with a VIP Attendee Preview Night on the exhibition floor with most Artists, Art Dealers and Exhibitors from 4-6pm EST. This Preview will be limited to only those Attendees with VIP badges. Following the Preview Night, a reception and Comic Art Fans (CAF) 23rd Anniversary Party with nearly all Artists and Exhibitors in attendance will be held from 6-8pm EST, with an open bar and hors d'oeuvres for those VIP badge holders in attendance. Over the weekend the Show floor will be open from 10am to 5pm EST both Saturday, February 21st and Sunday, February 22nd. The OAX Auction and Fundraising Event is Saturday evening from 5:30-8:00pm EST.

OAX is produced by Comic Art Fans (CAF), the global hub for all things original comic book art, as well as CAF's twice annual two-day virtual art convention, Comic Art Live (CAL) and the CAF+ YouTube channel, where you'll see live OAX artist interviews, special pre-OAX commission opportunities, and general OAX announcements made first.

The OAX narrative art fair includes a growing number of sections that specialize in an important category of visual or storytelling art. Entry into OAX grants you full access to these specialized sections.

The Illustration Art Expo (IAX) housed within OAX will present more than a dozen artists and exhibitors presenting original artworks created for the wonderful and expansive world of illustration, including everything from comics to book covers to gaming, magazines and more.

The Card Art Expo (CAX) housed within OAX focuses on original art created for, or based on, non-sports cards and collectible card games such as Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Magic: The Gathering, and other related comic book, film, television, and pop culture properties.

Artists

OAX 2026 expects to invite a minimum of 80 prominent artists from around the world to join the very best narrative art dealers, reps, and auction houses.

CAN I BRING ART FROM MY COLLECTION?

Yes! That's what we want you to do! We expect a big percentage of attending collectors to bring portfolios to show off their art and to possibly trade and/or sell pieces with fellow collectors, art dealers, and attending artists. We've even dedicated a large area of the show floor for this to happen, with tables/chairs set up in front of the auction stage to accommodate well more than 100 people at any time for the entirety of the show. It's going to be a massive art fest!

VIP PREVIEW NIGHT & OPENING RECEPTION

Our event begins Friday, February 20th with a VIP Attendee Preview Night on the exhibition floor with participating Artists, Art Dealers and Exhibitors from 4-6pm EST.

OAX AUCTION & FUNDRAISING EVENT SATURDAY NIGHT

OAX will hold an in-person auction on Saturday, February 21. The event starts at 5:30pm when the exhibit halls close and it will end around 8pm EST. The OAX Auction and Fundraising Event has been one of the highlights of the first two OAX shows, with open bars and enough food for as many as 600 attendees.

The auction itself will have 60+ original art pieces created by attending artists ranging in value from $100 to $10,000. Several of the auction pieces will have 100% of their sale price going to The Hero Initiative, who support comic book creators in their time of need. Additional proceeds from the auction will also be donated to the The Kirby Museum.

The auction pieces will be submitted by artists over the months leading up to the show and will be periodically revealed on the OAX web site, CAF+ YouTube channel, and through CAF newsletters. All auction pieces will be posted publicly by OAX in early February 2026, when proxy bidding will begin. Proxy bidding will close one week prior to the start of the show. OAX attendees will have two big advantages: seeing all the art in person at OAX and being the only ones allowed to bid during the live auction on Saturday night.

SUNDAY FREE SKETCH + SIGNATURE EVENT

Is this Europe? No, it's Florida. On Sunday afternoon as the show begins to slowly wind down, many of the attending artists will be doing free quick sketches and providing signatures to attendees. Details on how this will work, and which artists are participating, will be revealed in the weeks leading up to the show.

We're hoping to see families travel together to vacation during the show and think that this Sunday free sketch event will be one to remember for many of their children.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS

The DoubleTree is officially affiliated with Universal Studios and has a kiosk across from their reception desk where you may purchase tickets. Universal's entrance is located directly across the street from the show venue. Free shuttles are available to and from Universal Studios' City Walk, and it's less than 15 minutes away by foot.

DISNEY WORLD

Disney owns all the things you love, like Star Wars, Marvel, and Minnie Mouse, and it's less than 15 minutes south of the show venue. Disney Springs is a popular and free outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment area to visit, too. And don't forget Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, too.
